“I’m inspired by the achievements of those around me, that show what we as a team can achieve.” Meet Gavin, our happy go lucky, killer developer and newest Bourne member to join the team.
One of the things I’ve always found to be really complex is component reuse. This means to use one app inside another. In this blog series, I will try my best to demystify this, as it really isn’t that hard at all.

The Bourne crew will be jetting off to UX Australia this week, enhancing our innovation and expanding our design knowledge. We asked our designers to share their most anticipated discussion - find out who you should be listening to
Everyone loves to be inspired. In life, in our everyday careers and by others who are passionate about what they do. On the 2nd and 3rd of December the team at Bourne was very excited to go to the emergent tech festival’s second Future Assembly event. We all have a bit of futurists in us and as the website rightly said, we got to ‘experience the future of science and technology’.
Like any skilled profession, being equipped with the right tools really makes a tremendous difference when doing UX work. I’d go so far as to say more so than many professions; efficiently solving and communicating complex design challenges necessitates the right tools, more specifically, purpose built tools. When UX consulting as a single UX practitioner or as a team, the tools are the vehicles.
Everyone wants a great customer experience right? Well, we believe it all starts by applying great UX design to B2E, Business to Employee applications. We asked the team why they thought creating great employee apps helped create better and more successful customer apps.
Retail has been greatly disrupted by technology. Not many retailers are ready for the change ahead. We know user experience is everything when building trust, driving engagement, sales, referrals and loyalty. In our event this week we have been lucky to have Retail’s Last Mile author and industry expert, Jonathan Reeve, to show us how to pave the way for a friction free future.
The opportunity is now for enabling real-time retail. Actually, the opportunity is now for ALL businesses to take advantage of new technologies and new ways of working. This is why we have partnered with SAP to bring you the innovators, leaders and transformers in the industry. We all know retail has been disrupted.
Human misinterpretation and emotive influences are inherent. When designing human-centered experiences it requires input from humans, which are then translated by humans, to be outputted into a solution. However, we know that no translation is perfect. In order to minimise misinterpretation, developing a playbook with a repertoire of tools and methodologies can ensure that clients, users and designers are all on the same page.
