Sarah's talk focused on inclusive design principles. Sarah made a strong case for inclusive design based on Australian population data and then provided practical takeaways. She demonstrated how to mark up wire-frames for accessibility; showing the keyboard tab order and the order a screen reader should read content aloud. She also introduced the use of enhanced personas for accessibility. As a result of the talk, I've decided to add an accessibility-based persona to my current project (a state government's internal app) in to assist the design and delivery team to meet mandatory accessibility requirements.
